Sourcing and Aging

Each barrel of Burning Chair Bourbon is hand-selected by Dave Phinney for its unique attributes. The blend features bourbons with a minimum age of four years, carefully procured from tiny lots across Kentucky, Indiana, and Tennessee. This diverse sourcing ensures a rich and complex character in the final blend. The bourbon is aged for a minimum of four years in new charred American oak barrels.

Unique Barrel Finishing

What sets Burning Chair Bourbon apart is its unique finishing process. After its initial aging, the bourbon is further matured in wine barrels previously used for Dave Phinney’s Napa Valley Cabernet projects. This finishing imparts additional layers of complexity and flavor.

Crafted with Pristine Water

The mature bourbon is brought to 88 proof using pure, pristine water sourced from Dave Phinney’s high-elevation property in Alexander Valley, Northern California, contributing to its smooth and refined character.
