Overview

This special combo pack brings together three expressions that highlight the versatility of wheated bourbon. From a smooth, approachable reserve to a deeply aged twelve-year offering and a robust, higher-proof antique, this set allows for a comprehensive appreciation of the Weller portfolio. Each bottle contributes a distinct experience, making it an ideal choice for those seeking to delve into the nuances of wheated bourbons.

W.L. Weller Special Reserve

The W.L. Weller Special Reserve is recognized as an original wheated bourbon whiskey, where wheat replaces rye grain in its mash bill, contributing to its exceptionally smooth taste. Bottled at 90 proof, this bourbon exhibits a burnt orange hue. Its softer flavor profile makes it versatile for enjoying neat or as a key ingredient in various cocktails. The tasting experience begins with a sweet nose featuring caramel. On the palate, notes of honey, butterscotch, and a gentle woodiness emerge, leading to a smooth, delicate, and calm character. The finish is smooth, accented by a sweet honeysuckle flair.

W.L. Weller 12 Years Old

A distinguished member of the wheated bourbon family, the W.L. Weller 12 Years Old undergoes an extended maturation period, aged significantly longer than many other wheated bourbons. This twelve-year aging process yields a smooth, easy-going, and well-balanced expression, notable for its beautiful deep bronze color. Aromas include lanolin, almond, creamed corn, and toasty vanilla. The mid-palate is characterized by a heavily wheated profile, layered and moderately sweet. It concludes with a long, oaky, and intensely smooth finish.

W.L. Weller 107

The W.L. Weller 107 is a wheated bourbon known for its full-bodied flavor and a balanced palette. Bottled at 107 proof, this expression delivers a complex taste and a bold finish. It stands as a recognizable part of the Weller label, offering unique characteristics that complement its higher proof. Tasting notes reveal sweet and unusual floral elements coupled with vanilla. The taste is notably well-balanced, presenting sweet fruit notes, a strong vanilla undertone, and sharp spicy tones, culminating in a cinnamon finish.
